What Quiet Mind Sleep is
Quiet Mind Sleep is an independent, UK-based website about sleep, with a particular focus on the problem most people describe in the same words: I'm tired, but my mind won't stop.
We publish practical guides on quieting a racing mind, falling asleep, waking in the night, sleep sounds, setting up a bedroom that helps, relaxation techniques and the daily habits that shape the night ahead. Everything is written for UK readers: our homes, our seasons, our health service.
Who it is for
You will probably find the site useful if you:
- lie awake replaying the day or worrying about tomorrow
- take a long time to fall asleep, or wake at 3am and can't drift off again
- want to understand what actually helps, without hype or miracle promises
- are curious whether things like brown noise, sleep masks or weighted blankets are worth trying
- want a calm, realistic plan rather than a list of forty rules
What kind of information we provide
General information and practical self-help, drawn from reputable sources such as the NHS, NICE guidance, national sleep organisations and peer-reviewed research where it exists. We explain the reasoning behind each suggestion so you can decide what suits you.
We are not a medical service. We do not have doctors or sleep clinicians on staff, we do not diagnose, and we cannot give advice about your individual situation. If your sleep problems are persistent, severe, or affecting your mood or daily life, please speak to a GP. Our guide on when to see a GP about sleep explains what to expect. See also our health information disclaimer.
How we write
Every guide follows our editorial policy. In short:
- We answer the question you actually asked, early, and then go deeper.
- We say clearly when evidence is strong, when it is promising but limited, and when something is mostly folklore.
- We use British English and plain language.
- We never invent statistics, experts, quotes or personal stories.
- We review and update guides as advice changes, and we correct mistakes openly (corrections policy).
How we recommend products
A few products genuinely make a dark, quiet, comfortable bedroom easier to achieve. Where we think one might help, we explain what to look for and why, using factual, manufacturer-style descriptions. We do not write fake reviews, we do not claim to have tested products unless we say so explicitly, and we do not display prices or ratings that may go out of date.
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This never affects what we write or which products we mention. Our affiliate disclosure explains how this works.
